Before there's matches, lighters before benzol, used to light a fire?, Not everyone was carrying two sticks to rub in the woods!
Well the answer was simple, a scraper! Of course was all by files made from scrap iron tears and cemented it by being beaten with a piece of flint, producing sparks that ignited the tinder or any sooty cloth.
